About Fedi
Foundation for Evidence-based Development in India (FEDI). is a not-for-profit charitable trust which aims to assist the Governments in India to fortify their policy decisions and program implementations through evidence-based practices. The purpose of this effort is to bring precision in functionality and outcomes of the interventions and to ultimately elevate the quality of life in the country. Evidence-based practices will help Governments and institutions to make well informed decisions about policies, programs and projects by putting the best available evidence from research at the heart of policy development and implementation. This will make decision making more reformist, innovative and confident while avoiding the risk of decision making based on institution, ideology, conventional wisdom or at best theory alone. Evidence-based practices meet the challenges such as complexities and interdependencies in the society and economy, and the unpredictability of people’s reactions to change.

FEDI, therefore, aims to make most of the technique of evidence-based practice which already has proven its worth in the developed societies. It is expected that by using this technique, Governments and institutions can justify their decisions scientifically and expect accurate outcomes of their interventions.
